Me and my Joseph are leaving for Las Vegas tonight to embark on our wedding journey. We only have 3 more days until we are married, and I am soooooo excited. Thinking about that, I have realized that I will no longer be an Olenslager. When people ask me what my last name is, I won't be able to immediatly just start spelling O-L-E-N-......, instead it will be Ipson, I-P-S-O-N. Cuz don't worry, people can't say that correctly either. So far I have anything from "Gibson?" to "Epsom.... like the salt??" So at least I will still be able to cherish having to spell my last name to people! :)
I will miss being an Olenslager, but look forward to becoming an Ipson. Joe is so amazing (as you all have heard me say a bazillion times), and I can't wait to start my life with him!

This one's for the girls....

I've always sort of been "one of the guys". Along with you, I do not know what is wrong with me. I will try and do better with these posts fo sho.

So I'm sure that everyone is just soooooo sick of hearing about Joe, and wedding stuff, and blah blah blah, but that is just too bad, cuz it is what I enjoy! :) So this week, my Sunday Sunshine is about, you guessed it, Joe.

Me and Joe will be leaving for Las Vegas in 9 days. I can't believe we are already down to single digits. It's seems not so long ago when he had just proposed, and the wedding seemed so far away. And not that long ago when I had just moved up to Utah, and didn't even really know Joe :) These past 5 months have been the best of my life. I have been so blessed to have Joe by my side. He is the most amazing man I will ever meet. Here are a few reasons why:

- I love all of your stories, and how you are not afraid to share them, even if they are a wee bit embarrasing for you.

- How you always open the car door for me, except for those 2 times. :)

- Your amazing knowledge of the scriptures, and how you always school me.

- Your patience with all of the crazees that are involved with wedding planning.

- How you secretly want 8 children (don't deny it, love)

- When you always give me a big hug everytime we see each other.

- The way you take care of Ralphie like a true turtle lover would.

- The fact that you like cuddling just as much as I do.

- How you swear you aren't romantic, but really are.

- When you send me random texts that say, "Hey beautiful!"

- Being patient with my "noobyness" during video games :)

- How the most important thing to you is a temple marriage! :)

So here's to you, Joseph. I can't wait to spend eternity with you!

I love you (perfectly most)!

-Libby

Crazyness....

So I just realized that in exactly 15 days, 34 minutes and 17 seconds I will be a married woman. I will have a husband! Isn't that complete crazyness? No more saying, "This is my wonderful, amazing, and overly attractive FIANCEE, Joe." It will be, "This is my cool as kool-aid HUSBAND, Joe". It hasn't really sunk in yet, and I don't think it will until I have been married for awhile. LOL. We are so ready for that day to come that I think when it actually does come, it won't be real. (I'm deep, I know....)
I'm still working on getting our apartment put together so I can post some pictures, but it is a slow process for me. I already have a 10 foot high pile of things to take to the DI. It has been really great "de-junking", so that I can make room for all of Joseph's junk. :) But seriously, homeboy has more cords and random gidgets than anyone I have ever met. But, I love him nonetheless. Our spare room will be the keeper of these items, so I am okay with that. We seriously love our apartment. We definitely love our apartment! It has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom, and even it's own separate laundry room, which was a HUGE plus for me! His name is Ralph, and we love him so! We got him last weekend and have enjoyed his calm demeanor ever since. For the first couple of days, Ralphie's home was a plastic tub with a handmade ramp (made by my handsome fiance). We weren't really diggin it and felt that Ralph surely deserved a home fit for a king. So Joe found a tank on Craigslist for $10. Ralphie has loved it. We bought him some beautiful rocks for the bottom of his tank, an awesome ramp for him to climb and bask, a water filter and heater, and a basking light. Yes my friends, Ralphie has turned into quite the expensive addition, but he is definitely worth it. It also took many a' trips back and forth to Petsmart to find the perfect accessories for him, but we love him nonetheless.
Ralphie is a male red-eared slider. He enjoys grubbin' on yummy shrimp and the occasional turtle pellet. He has a really cool red tint outlining his top shell, and his belly shell is pretty pimped out as well. We have enjoyed having him, and look forward to many happy days with him in our family!

This is his "serious" face. Here is my "2008 year in review". 2008 has brought a lot of happiness and surprises. My life this year has been so wonderful, and I'm so grateful to all the people that made that happen!

January- I brought in 2008 at a New Years Dance. It was oober fun. I danced with a boy named Jason, who turned out to be one of the funniest kids I had ever met. I even kissed a boy (on the cheek, of course) right at midnight!

February- During my "I'm all alone on Valentine's Day" pity parade, I decided to host my first ever Game Night. We had food, games, and fun! I invited pretty much all of my friends, even if they didn't know each other. We laughed until we cried! I definitely need to host one of those bad boys again! :)

March- On March 3rd, 2008 I turned 21 whole years of age. Wowzzaaa am I getting old. I spent my birthday with my brother and his family. The kids sang Happy Birthday, and even helped me blow out the candles..... what helpers!

April- April was a beautiful month. Lots of sunshine and smiles. My older brother got married on the 16th, and we were able to get all the family together! It was a good time.

May- May 21st was my oldest nephews birthday. It's weird I know, but I totally met him on Facebook. I'm so glad that I started talking to him, cuz now we are totally in love! :)

September- September was a HUGE month for me..... lots and lots of changes. I moved to Orem, Utah. That was so hard for me. I have lived in Vegas all of my life, so it was extremely difficult to just pick up and move 400 miles away. I started working at Dr. Rowley's office, and it has been so fun! I absolutely love it! September also was the month that me and Joe "officially" started dating. I took him to meet my parents, and he took me to meet his. We all hit it off so well. He got along great with my family, and I also fit right in with his! Good ol' September!...

October- October was the first snow that I had seen since being up here. It only snowed for 1 day, but I was not too happy about it. Me and snow aren't really BFFs if ya know what I mean.

November- On November 10th, Joe asked me to marry him! It was such a wonderful day! I am so lucky to be marrying such a wonderful man! Sorry ladies, but I definitely got THE BEST man on this planet! :)

December- Man oh man December. What a crazy month. It was filled with lots and lots of wedding planning. Let me tell ya, planning a wedding is alot more stressful than I thought it was going to be. From invitations, to centerpieces, to scheduling a place for the reception. I am definitely looking forward to it all being over so I can just enjoy being married to again, THE BEST man on the planet! :)

Overall, 2008 was a good year. I had fun and definitely grew alot. I had alot of "firsts" in 2008, but will have even more in 2009. First holidays with Joe, first apartment, first time going through the temple.... I am so excited for all the wonderful experiences I will have this year! I hope everyone has a wonderful year as well! He is pretty much a pro at every game (except NHL 08, where I totally kick his bum). But one of his favorite games is called Gears of War. I have watched him play a few times, and it's pretty intimidating. The monsters are preeeeetty crazy looking, and 5,269 of them attack you at the same time. So yea.... it can get pretty intense. I've never really been that much of a video game player. The last time I played was good ol' Duck Hunt on Nintendo back in 1996. So I'm a little "unpolished". But Joe pretty much loves Gears of War, so I decided to let him teach me. And let's just say that Joe is very very patient with me. I struggled for quite awhile just trying to figure out how to make my guy walk. But slowly I got the hang of it. So on Saturday me, Joe, and a couple of Joe's work buddies all played together, and we got to level 29 of 50! Does anyone want to take a gander at how long that took us? Anyone.... anyone?? It took us 8 HOURS!!! Can you believe it? Me, Mrs. " I don't know how to aim and shoot at the same time" played a video game for 8 whole hours! And it was flippin awesome! I am totally hooked now! I am still a "noob" as Joseph would put it, but I am definitely learning, and look forward to playing again!

This handsome fella is Marcus. He is my fave.
I am always Marcus when I play! :)

BEAVER!!!....

To KerrieLeigh, with LOVE!! :)

Oh the joys of Utah...

So me, being the whimpy Las Vegas girl, am definitely not used to having my car covered in 54,379 inches of snow. These lovely ladies, my friends, are the wonderful women I get to spend Monday-Friday from 9-5 with! They keep me young, let me tell ya!

This little lady is Kim. (But don't let the "I'm hiding behind my hair" look fool ya, cuz she's anything but shy!) She is in the process of writing a book called "Geneva Jitterbug", and I am proud to say that I will be the first owner of an autographed copy! It was a ton of fun! The people he work with are really friendly, and I can tell it's just a very casual, fun place to work. While at the party, they gave out these hilarious awards, and everyone got one. They ranged from "The BYU-Idaho Award" to the "Mary Poppins Award". Now Joe was very excited to get his award (he was practically peeing his pants with anticipation!) I was excited too, to know what Joe's co-workers thought of him. So Joe's boss calls him up and gives everyone a little history: how Joe was hired a few months ago, and how he just got back from his mission 6 months ago, yaddy yaddy ya..... and then he says, "And Joe's alrady got a little lady that he plans on marryin! So Joe's gonna get the Anxiously Engaged Award!" It was flippin' awesome!

Here's Joe getting his wonderful Award

And here, ladies and gentleman, is the Award that will be hung on our Living Room wall for years to come! :)

Engagement Photos!....

So this past weekend me and Joe were able to go visit his family in Vernal. We decided to have his ever so adorable sister, Chantile, take some pictures for us. (We've realized that we are gonna need a lot of pictures....sign in book, slide show, etc. etc.) Anywho Chantile was able to find some awesome places for our photos! We absolutely LOVE how they turned out, and it's gonna be extremely difficult picking one to send with the invitation. If you guys have any favorites, let me know! Thanks again Chantile for doing this! We love you!! Here are a few of the faves. Enjoy, my dears!...

<img style="cursor: pointer; I finally ran across this most extravagent, beautiful, and ever so charming gown. I knew right when I saw it that it was the one. Let me know what you guys think.....

Ok..... but seriously. I DID find my dream dress. On Wednesday when my parents picked me up, they took me to this itty bitty bridal store in Kearns. I was a little skeptical, because in my mind, I already had my dress picked out, and I knew this store did not have it. I was surprised at how little the store really was. They actually only sell one dress, in one size, per style. So if you found a dress that you liked, but it was not the right size, you were pretty much out of luck. So I had a few that I had picked out and were trying on. (Let me tell you.....it is such an amazing feeling when you are actually tryin on dresses. It all sort of hits you that you really are getting married!) So I tried on a few, and they were pretty, but none of them really stuck out or made me swoon. So our little helper lady brings out one more, and I immediately fell in love with it, even when it was just on the hanger. I quickly put it on, praying that it would fit.....and it DID! Oh, it was so perfect! I came out all dressed up, veil and all, and my parents also immediately fell in love with it! Oh what a relief!..... a dress that we all loved. I seriously wished that I could have worn it all day! It's really funny because I went into that store already "knowing" what I wanted, but it's definitely true that you have to try stuff on to know if it looks good or not. (As my mother likes to say). I am so excited that I was able to find my dress in 1 store, and didn't have to frantically look through 10 stores to find something that I liked. So yea... I love my dress, and I'm pretty sure Joe will love it too! THANKS MOM AND DAD!!

Birthday Shoutout!...

This past weekend me and my parents were able to go to Idaho to see my Grandma and Grandpa for Thanksgiving. My ex-boyfriend, David served his mission in Lubbock, Texas, and it just so happened to be that Joe also served his mission in Lubbock Texas.....and it just so happened to be that Joe and David were companions. Now, now..... calm yourself..... let me finish...
One fine day last August I was on a oh so popular networking site called Facebook. I was just browsing as usual, when I came across a group called "Members of the great TLM-Texas Lubbock Mission." I decided to take a peek at the members to see if I recognized any of the names that David had mentioned while on his mission. I came across 2- Joe Ipson and Tommy Adams. Oh Tommy, Tommy, Tommy...... but we will need to save him for another day.
Anywho.... so after recognizing Joe's name, I decided to send him a quick message. I think it went something like this: "Hey..... so I know this is really random, but did you serve with an Elder Pace?" He quickly responded that he had, and we just started chatting. I was surpised with how well we got along, and how great everything was going. Awhile before I had started talking to Joe I had decided that I was going to move up to Utah, and it just so happened that Joe also lived in the same city I was going to live in. Now, Joe swears that I only moved up there to be closer to him, but I will deny that til they put me in my grave. :)
So I move to Orem, Utah, and the day I got here was so great! Joe even came to help me move in (yea, he kinda liked me!) and then after, we went out to eat and then watched a scary movie that I had been dying to watch with him..... it was terrifying!

DATING:

So pretty much after the first day I was here, me and Joe were inseparable. We did everything together, and it was wonderful. But it didn't take long for us to tell each other how we felt about one another (besides the 2 hours when we actually both had the guts to say anything!) We officially started dating on September 16th, and every day since has been wonderful!!

ENGAGEMENT:

So we both were very surprised with how fast things were moving with us, but we also both felt that we weren't rushing things. (weird, I know). So after awhile, we knew that we were gonna get married! We went to visit my parents in Panguitch a couple weekends ago, and that's when we had "The Marriage" talk with them. It went soooo smooth. Joe was a little nervous, but he did great! My dad got a little emotional, and that was kinda hard. It all just hit me that I wasn't a little girl anymore.....BUT, I will ALWAYS be my daddy's little girl! :)
So Monday rolls around, and Joe asks me while I am at work if I want to go to lunch. I was surprised, since that is something we have never done before. So he comes and picks me up. (He was only about 20 minutes late, might I add)....but I'm pretty forgiving. So we go to lunch, and after, we walk back to his car. He opens my door and I get in, and BAM! he gets down on one knee right there and busts out the ring! It was even raining! (Joe says it was just drizzling, but I like to tell people that it was pouring!) haha. So he says, " Will you marry me?" And all I could say was, "Are you joking, are you joking?!?!" So when I finally realize he is quite serious, I say "Yes!!"..... and then we do all the mushy hug and kiss thing. But I absolutely loved it! He did such a great job, in my opinion!

YADDY YADDY YA:

So we have decided to be sealed for time and all eternity in the Las Vegas, Nevada Temple, on Saturday, February 21st. I am soooo excited! Being with Joe has been so amazing! He is my absolute best friend, and I really don't know what I ever did without him. He is more than I could have ever imagined in an eternal companion! I am so blessed to be a part of his life each day, and look forward to spending forever with him!!

Sunday Sunshine!...

ME AND JOE ARE ENGAGED!!!! Joe just proposed this afternoon! We talked about 2 types of miracles: macro and micro. The first type, macro, is a miracle that affects everyone. The sister teaching gave an example of the Atonement as a macro miracle, which I think is so true. It really is a miracle that our Savior did that for us and that no matter who we are we can use that in our lives. The second type of miracle is micro, which only affects you personally in your life. It can be anything really. She spoke about how nothing in our life is a coincidence. Anything that you deem as something "random" or coincidental" is exactly the opposite. Heavenly Father is always 100% involved with ANYTHING that happens in your life, even small things that you think would just have happened on their own.
I am very grateful that we had that lesson. I think that sometimes I just shrug things off as being coincidences and don't really stop to think about it. I am so grateful that Heavenly Father DOES know what is going on in my life and is leading me to where He knows I need to be!

The days I almost peed my pants...

So in the spirit of this totally "Spooktacular" day, I thought I would share what I deem as the 2 scariest experiences of my life.

Creeper experience #1:

I believe I was only about 6 or 7 years old, and me and my two older brothers (who also probably peed their pants that night) were home alone. We were all downstairs in our basement, which might I add, I was already afraid of. Our basement was part of a 3 story house, so it was underground, but it had long windows on one wall that were pretty much major creeper. People could see inside our basement, but you would never be able to see them even if you were standing right in front of the window. So I was already creeped out from being downstairs at night. Anywho, back to my awesome story. So me and my brothers were downstairs, and I'm pretty sure we were watching some sort of frightening show or movie, so we were already on the jumpy side. So there we were, just mindin' our own business in our creepy basement, when all of a sudden we hear the loudest, most frighteningest banging on our door. I immediately sprung from the couch. The banging just persisted. Now I'm sure you can imagine my horror at this time, since I knew whoever was banging on the door could see us, but we could not see them. (Creeeeeeeepppyyyy!) So my oldest brother rushes upstairs and grabs the phone, and dials good ol' 911. We still are unable to see who is at the door, but the banging (and scraping) at this point just keeps on going. Now while Dustin is on the phone, me and my other brother, Shad, are frantically trying to hide under the couch. Why we are doing this, I do not know, since the space between the couch and the floor was only about 1/2 inch! But hey, we were desperate!! So while me and Shad are trying to flatten ourselves into pancakes, Dustin is still on the phone with the 911 operator, when we hear, "Hey Dustin. Open the door. It's Justin."

ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!???? So Dustin goes up and slowly opens the front door, and sure enough, there is his friend Justin, hockey stick in hand! He had been banging on and scraping our door with a dang hockey stick!! So Dustin immediately told the 911 operator that it was all a misunderstanding and that it was just his "friend" at the door. What a crack-head! Who does that?! I guess he was tryin to surprise us..... which I'm pretty sure he did.

Everytime I think back to that experience I get the heebie jeebies. So....moral of the story is... no matter how hard you and your brother try, you're NOT gonna fit under the couch.

Creeper experience #2:

So in Las Vegas, there is a house that has been tagged as the scariest house around. Let me give you a litte background....... supposedly there is a family that lives there, but their daughter died a few years ago. If your drive by, there is a window in the front where you can see a large portrait of the daughter lit up by an above light. Also, there is a TV in one of the upper bedrooms that is always on, and the channel never gets changed. So me and my girlfriends decided that we absolutely had to check this out. We drove over one night and when we first got there, we just drove by, you know..... gotta scope the place out first. So we drive by, and yes we see the picture as well as the TV. So we flip a U-ey and come and park right in front. We just kinda look around for a minute just to see if there's any movement inside........ nothin'. So we get distracted for a minute and just start talking amongst ourselves. For some reason when we stopped talking, we all happened to look up at the house at the same time, and that's about the time when we peed our pants. Up in the top window where the TV was, there was a man standing in front of it, just staring at us. He was just like a statue, peering down at us with an "I'm gonna cut you up into little pieces" look. We all just stared for what had to have been at least 3.2 minutes, and then my friend Amanda screamed, "GO GO GO GOOOO!!!!" So I pretty much floored it and we have never been back since....

Sunday Sunshine!

Live, Laugh, Love..

So this past weekend Joe and I were able to make a trip to Vernal to visit his family. And let me just tell ya, it was fantastic! I had sooo much fun (as I know you will be able to tell from these marvelous photos!). On Saturday all the guys went outside to do....... whatever "manly men" do on a Saturday morning. While they were outside Chantile (Joe's sister) found a random pack of mustaches. That's right, 7 very masculine strips of facial hair. (One for each day of the week, of course!) So anywho, we decided it would be oh so fun to try them on. And I must say, we make pretty darn sexy she-men. And of course we had to document our fun adventure with these awesome photographs!
My point of this random fun story is that it was just something......random and fun to do. So my Sunday Sunshine this week is pretty much just about loving life and having fun with it!
( I know, I know.... a weird story about me putting on mustaches isn't much of a life changing experience, but....) I was able to just do something that made me laugh. It was great getting to know Chantile better and to be myself around her. We were just having so much fun and cracking up the entire time! And that is my wonderful experience and point this week. Life is such a blessing. We are only on the earth for a short time, and we were put here to have experiences and to learn and grow. (And I am really a fan sometimes of those experiences that make me laugh....). Life is just too short to worry about minute things. HAVE FUN!! We are so blessed to be able to spend this life with the people that we love! :)

My most favorite photo from the weekend

Yea, it's a good thing I make him wax that beast! Life this past month or so has just been one big roller coaster ride. I have been thinking alot about it lately, beings how I wasn't really the biggest fan of the whole "your life is about to be drastically altered forever" thing. I have been thinking about my family and some of the changes they are going through, and even though I have had mixed feelings about change, I know that everything is going to be okay. Us Olenslagers are pretty tough to start out with anyway, but I know that Heavenly Father has a plan for each of us.....even if it's not what we think it is. Many times in my life I have just been crusin' along just fine, thinking that I know exactly what I'm doing, and what my life plan was. Then, much to my utter amazement, life throws me a curve ball! Oh the joy!
When it happens, it pretty much sucks big time cuz it really throws ya off. But then when you realize why it happened and get to see the big picture, you realize that all that change was sooooo worth it!
Personally, my life is completely different than I thought it was going to be, even 2 months ago. I had a life plan, and that was just how it was going to be. But then my Heavenly Father let me know that he had other plans for me. And I am sooooo grateful for that! My life, again, is totally different than I thought it was going to be, but I wouldn't have it any other way!! Life is good, my friends....... very, very good!! :)

Interesting questionnaire...

So I guess you are supposed to google image your answers. So..... I am letting you all see the VERY FIRST photo of me and Joe together! I know, I know. You all are just peeing your pants from overwhelming joy right now. But yea, on Friday me and Joe went to an Institute dance, and afterwards we decided to do a little photo shoot. We struggled a bit since the flash on his camera was as blinding as a fluorescent highlighter on my pupil. But.... we overcame nonetheless. So my Sunday Sunshine this week is just about Joe. Just how great and wonderful and handsome he is. He pretty much makes me smile!

Waffles and Avalanches...

So yesterday I told Joe that I wanted to start making awesome Sunday dinners. So I said to him, "You get to decide what I make this Sunday. It can be pretty much anything you want." So after a little (and by a little, I mean 7 seconds) bit of time, he replied with..... "Waffles with strawberries and whipped cream." I was like," Ummm. Are you joking?" But nope. Folks, he was quite serious. Good old Joseph really is a simple man. I give him any kind of food to choose from, and he picks cooked batter.....what a doll! He really IS my favorite!

Yesterday was also the first Colorado Avalanche game of the NHL season. Pictured above is the lovely Joe Sakic. He is Joe's favorite. I think it's because they share the same name, but Joseph says otherwise......typical. Joe is pretty into the Avs, and I think it's adorably awesome. He even wore his jersey all day, just to show his support! I had never watched a hockey game before, so I was excited to give it a try. And I'll admit that it was pretty awesome. I DID fall asleep for about 3 minutes, but that's only because their intermissions are so dang long. But other than that, I found it quite entertaining. I guess in hockey, there are some pretty gnarly fights that ensue sometimes (maybe due to that fact that they can pretty much smash each other whenever they want.....but I don't know). There was almost a fight last night, but they were just being boys I guess, cuz nothing really happened. Joe DID reassure me that Colorado was not really much of a fightin' team though (they're nice), so it's all good.

So yea, it was a pretty good day yesterday. From what I hear, there is some sort of strange Virtual Horse program online, that apparantly this girl was in love with. I guess she would just sit at her desk all day long, and stare at ponies???! Oh, but KerrieLeigh DID say that you could build your own stable, so I guess it had its perks! I was just having a hard time imagining someone who is supposed to be working, looking at fake horses all day! But I guess it was all her "horsin' around" that got her fired!.....get it?..... horsin' around?!? Man oh man, I am a funny one. But I did already warn KerrieLeigh that if she started calling me "Horse Whisperer", I would be very upset with her. So lets all hope that I don't get sucked into that destructive program known so popularly as...... "Virtual Horse....."

First Day of Work!....

So I am officially part of an office again..... and it feels great! Today was my first day at my new job. I work with 2 other super ladies, KerrieLeigh and Kim, (They are actually sisters) and they are pretty hilarious. I can definitely tell I am going to have a ton of fun working there. Dr. Rowley is out of town until October 9th, so it is a bit slow right now. But I can already tell that there is soooo much I will be doing. There's a butt-load (pardon my French) of medical terminology that I will be getting familiar with, as well as tons of other ear, nose, and throat associated things I will be doing. So I'm pretty excited to start learning a bunch of new things. Tomorrow I get to conquer answering the phone, as well as start on some of the medical dictation. Wish me luck!.... I will keep you posted!

Sunday Sunshine!

The gospel.....

(WONDERFUL image added just for Joe!)

So today me and Joe had the interesting opportunity to attend a Jehovah's Witness Congregation in Provo. I told Joe that I had never attended any other type of service, and going to other ones is something he thinks is very "testimony building". So he offered to take me. The people there were very friendly. We stood up to sing, as well as pray. Then one man got up and taught a lesson on courage. I thought he did very well, and he used a lot of references from the Bible. Then we sang again, and another man got up to teach from a little book I believe was called the "Watch Tower".
It was interesting because they have a lot of the same beliefs that LDS people do, but then other parts of their beliefs are just so different from ours. As I was listening to the speakers, I was interested in what I would feel...... and I felt nothing. There was no spirit there. The people, again, were very kind and welcoming, but they lacked the wonderful spirit that should be felt while worshiping. I was very thankful afterwards to go to Joe's ward and feel what it is like to be a member of this gospel and to appreciate the knowledge that I possess of its truthfulness.
Today, his ward had a "Hymn Day" in Sacrament. So we were able to sing different hymns the entire time, and feel of Heavenly Father's spirit through all of the beautiful music.
So again, this Sunday, I am grateful for the knowledge I have of knowing that I belong to the only true church, and for the spirit and love I feel each week as I partake of the sacrament and learn more of my Heavenly Father and his wonderful plan for me!

The hunt is over!!....

So I have FINALLY found a job! Holy smokes it took me forever! I've been to quite a few interviews, but I guess nothing was clicking. And then last weekend I got called to come do a follow up interview. So I went in on Monday, and met with the doctor. His name is Doctor Rowley, and he is an Otolaryngologist......yea, I'm not sure how to say it either! But I guess he pretty much heals the ears, nose, and throat, which I think is pretty cool. So I went in and met with him, and then yesterday they called back and asked me if I would like to work with them. I was sooooo relieved!! I am very excited! But Dr. Rowley is out of town, so I won't be able to start until Monday.....sad. But yea, I am just so relieved that I was able to find a nice job that I will enjoy!
Oh, me and Joe also started an institute class last night. You'll never guess which one!!....... ok, I'll tell you. It is called "Dating and Courtship"! hahahah! Yea, Joe was pretty excited about it! ;) But it actually was a really really great class. The instructor is way chill and makes the class fun. So I am excited to continue with that!

Sunday Sunshine!

Families...

So my Sunday Sunshine is a wee bit late this week, but it's all good! This week's post is going to be focused on families. This past weekend, I was able to go and meet my wonderfully wonderful boyfriend's family. Now I will be honest, and say that I was pretty much nervous out of my flippin' mind to go and meet them. I kept thinking, "Wuh-oh. What it they don't like me?" "What if they hate me." "What if they think I'm stranger than their already super strange son?".... the list could go on an on.... But when I got there, it was just so relaxed and fun. It was great to be able to see Joe interact with his family, and the love that they all share.. It just made me realize how wonderful and precious families really are. I just love my family soooo much! I am so grateful that I was able to go to the temple, and be sealed to them forever! What an amazing experience and blessing! I am so grateful for their unconditional love and support, and can't wait to spend the eternities with them!

Sunday Sunshine!

So I have decided that every Sunday I am going to write about something uplifting or spiritual that happened to me that day, or even the previous week. Today's Sunday sunshine is going to be labeled.......(drumroll please).......
                                        Left......or right?.......

So while I have been in Utah, I have realized that life is just full of choices.....and some pretty darn important ones! I have felt extremely confused about my life, and the things that I need to decide on. While contemplating these things, I have sometimes felt sooo scared and alone, like my Father in Heaven no longer could hear my prayers, pleading for direction. So.....(coming to the point of all of this)..... it was during Sacrament Meeting today that it finally hit me. It was fast and testimony meeting, and the sweetest sister got up to bear her testimony. She began by sharing her thoughts about trials and difficult decisions that we all experience, and how she felt about them. And then she said the answer to my prayers. She said,"......but it is often times when we are struggling most with our selves and with life decisions, that our Heavenly Father is closest to us..." I was just blown away by that! It was such a sweet reassurance to me that my Heavenly Father really does love me, and he would never abandon me. It was definitely something that I needed to hear, and my Father in Heaven knew it!
My new ward is so great! There is such a sweet spirit there, and the people are so friendly! I am soooo excited to associate with them and gain new friendships!

Gettin' settled....

So I am now all moved into my new home! It is great! I'll be honest, and say that my first night here I was preeeeetty freaked out. It might have had something to do with the whole "being in a place totally new and different" thing, or it might have been a result of the super creepy movie I had watched that night. The real reason...... I will never know. But anyways, it has taken a little getting used to. For example, the streets in Utah. I have always hated the whole numbered streets thing, and growing up in Vegas, the only streets with numbers were streets that you didn't want to be on! I have already gotten lost due to my numbered street phobia, but hopefully I will be able to pick it up soon! These past couple of days have been a ton of fun!
On Friday when I got here, I had a couple of my manly friends, David and Joe come and help me move in, and then me and Joe went to an awesome Sushi place, where we made fun of one of the chefs. (Mainly because the only thing he said was "Ohhhh yeaaaa!") And then we hit up Joe's bachelor pad for some scary movie time. And yea, it was pretty intense! And then last night we went to a wedding reception way out in B.F.E., where we talked about our most embarrassing moments. .......if anyone is looking for a hilarious story involving a family, a bathroom, and the non-existence of a bathroom door, please feel free to contact my friend Joe!
One thing that I have noticed about Utah, is how many dang college kids there are! I went to a conference this morning, and on my way there, there was just a slew of college kids walkin down the street. It was pretty crazy! I am also going to a fireside tonight at the same place. I am soooo excited, because Elder Holland is speaking! This morning, Elder Uchtdorf spoke. I was amazed. That is something that I think is soooo amazing!.....to be in the same room as an apostle or prophet!!! It is definitely something that I am going to enjoy!!

Labor Day...

This is how we Olenslagers roll on Labor Day. We take funny pictures, and make random videos!

This is the picture that Rigdon wanted me to take. This is his favorite helmet. He wore it outside today because it was windy!

So naturally, Nellie also wanted a picture with the oh so wind protective helmet. I think she looks pretty pimp myself.

And lastly, Abraham chose what he would like for his photo. He is much too macho for the helmet, so he opted for good old Superman!

Now for the encore........ this is our cool video of the day. She has 4 adorable kids, but the youngest, Adyson, had a runny nose and acted like she was a little on the " I feel like passing out" side. Now usually my immune system would buck up and say "Halt, you weakening little virus!!" But I guess it had the day off, because yesterday it all began....... first, it was just a little scratchy throat, no biggy. But then came the sneezing and stuffy nose. And now today, I have completed the package with the oh so lovely throbbing headache. Spaghetti and Meatball gummies. I think I'm officially going to barf. How disgusting is that? When I was a kid, they didn't even have stuff like this. We got to choose between Sixlets, a Tootsie Pop, and Candy Cigarettes.......ok maybe not. But seriously, I can't believe that they even make an Italian specialty into chewy little gummies, complete with meatballs, noodles, mozarella cheese, and garlic bread. INSANE!! .... and that MY nephew would choose to partake of such things! What is this world coming to?! hahah. But I guess its ok, because Abe did reassure me that the spaghetti and meatballs were ok, cuz they tasted like Crabby Patties! But you better believe I'm gonna go buy him some plain old M&Ms and show him what real candy is all about! :)

Back on track.....

So I realized today as I was looking at a fellow blogger's blog, that......hey, I have a blog too! Obviously, I am a little slow on the whole blogging thing. But hopefully I will be able to catch up for some lost time! I guess alot has happened since I last posted......

1. Its official, I am moving to Orem, UT. Yea, I know I have said

that one on two other occasions....but this time it's for real! I will be living with 3 other girls, none of which I have met before. I am only a little bit nervous about it, but it shouldn't be too bad. I'm not THAT hard to get along with, am I? LOL ;)

2. My very best friend, Elder Leland David Pace will be returning home from his mission in Lubbock, Texas this Wednesday. (Yea.... that's like 5 days away!) It is so crazy how quickly time has flown by. I remember the day he left like it was yesterday, and it just doesn't seem like it has been 2 whole years..... but I guess I still have 5 days left, so maybe THEN it will feel like 2 years! haha. He is moving up to Provo to go to BYU only a few days after he gets home, so he will only have a little bit of time to spend with his family. But it will be fun to see him and be able to spend some time with him. He has grown so much these past 2 years, and it has been great to see!

3. And here comes 4!..... My sister in law, Desiree found out yesterday that she will be having a beautiful baby boy in January! I am sooooo excited. Being an aunt is pretty much the funnest job ever. It is going to be so hard to leave them when I move. I have loved being able to spend every day with them!

Well.... that might just be all of the exciting things going on in my life right now! Hopefully I won't get distracted again, and will be able to continue on this fun blogging adventure!! :)

Addicted

So.... my sister in law is very into "blog stalking", and I always thought she was pretty coo coo! Until the day I started looking for people that I knew in the blogging world. And to my astonishment and horror, I became a stalker myself! Aaahhhh!! I was always looking for people I knew, and clicking on random people's blogs (that I didn't even know.... ) and seeing what was going on in their worlds!
